Bio
ason is a Managing Director and joined Alex. Brown in 2000. Jason previously worked for Wachovia Bank where his focus was Corporate Banking. Jason graduated cum laude with a BA in Economics in 1996 and an MBA in 2000, both from Wake Forest University. Jason was the MBA graduating class recipient of the Wheat First Union Award for Excellence in Portfolio Management and Securities Analysis. Jason has been recognized by Forbes in 2019 and 2020 for being a Best in State Wealth Advisor and by Barron's in 2018, 2019, and 2020 for being one of the top advisors in the United States. He is a member of the Investment Management Consulting Association. Jason holds the Series 7 and 66 securities registrations.

Barbara J. Cooney, MSHR, SHRM-SCP, serves as Director of Professional Development at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, where she has spent over 15 years helping faculty, staff, and leaders grow through innovative learning and leadership development. Throughout her career, Barbara has worked as a trainer, consultant, instructional designer, and leadership facilitator, bringing over 30 years of experience in organizational development and higher education. She is the creator of the Western Community College Leadership Academy, growing it over the past 6 years from three colleges to seven including: A-B Tech, Blue Ridge, Haywood, Isothermal, McDowell Tech, Southwestern, and Western Piedmont Community Colleges. Known for her engaging and practical presentation style, Barbara combines research, real-world experience, and interactive learning to help leaders embrace change, strengthen collaboration, and lead with confidence.
