Jonathan Garrison

Director, Sandhills Promise, Scholarships, Recruitment, and Student Conduct OfficerSandhills Community College

Bio

Jonathan has been at Sandhills Community College for 15 years, and he currently serves as the Director of Scholarship Operations and Enrollment Management. He started out in the Financial Aid office and has overseen the college's scholarship program for Student Services since 2014. Jonathan remembers setting up AcademicWorks (now Award Management) way back in 2014 so the college could officially go live with the product in 2015. Today, Jonathan and his team coordinate and oversee scholarships for both curriculum and Workforce continuing education students, the college's Promise program, all campus recruitment activities, the GEAR UP NC grant, and enrollment management operations. Jonathan also serves as the Student Officer for the college.

Jonathan and his wife Tonya have two daughters, Alexus and Peyton, and a fur baby named Ava who really runs the Garrison household. Alexus graduated last year with her Respiratory Therapy degree, and Peyton is working on her bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. When not at work, you will probably find Jonathan either in the kitchen or at one of his BBQ smokers. Cooking traditional southern comfort food is a passion of his. Or Jonathan will tell that he would rather just sell everything and either move to the beach or Disney World. Those are the places that you will find the Garrison family most often!
