Grant Work in the Deep End: Thriving When You're the Whole Department

Lisa Miller knows what it's like to juggle the entire grants process—often as a team of one. As Director of Strategic Initiatives and Assessment at Mitchell Community College, she draws on more than 20 years of nonprofit and higher education experience, including 14 years in the NC Community College System. She's secured millions in federal, state, and local grants funding, led multi-college collaborations, and built sustainable grants systems for small institutions. Lisa is passionate about practical solutions, strong partnerships, and supporting other grant professionals.
